Monstera do poorly when soil becomes really dry and brittle but it doesnt like to be absolutely swimming in water either. The Monstera Peru is not a terribly difficult plant to care for as long as it is given the proper soil and regular waterings. Its Swiss cheese nickname comes from the iconic splits and holes in its leaves and its breadfruit nickname refers to its corn-shaped fruit.

This plant is about 25cm tall and comes in 12cm pot. Unlike its cousins mentioned above the Peru is more of an understory plant and prefers not to be in direct light. Striking that balance point is probably the most tricky part of caring for this plant. I it also does well under some shade.
